10 month old Kate was diagnosed with a very rare form of bone marrow failure. A bone marrow transplant is her only option for a second chance at life.
“Kate is a fighter. She proved that a while ago. I just wish she didn't have to fight this fight.” -Lindsey Boggan, Kate’s mom

National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP)

Since 1992, DKMS has been a part of the Be The Match Registry® (operated by the NMDP). Together, we connect doctors, donors and patients throughout North America and the world.

The Be The Match Registry facilitates an average of more than 400 marrow or blood cell transplants each month, and has given more than 40,000 patients a second chance at life.

We are proud of our close relationship working with the National Marrow Donor Program to facilitate this life-saving process. DKMS makes up 15% of worldwide registered unrelated stem cell donors and over 25% of NMDP registered donors. Out of the 2.7 million plus DKMS donors, more than 620K are AB-DR typed and over 209K are high resolution typed. A full 16% of the NMDP DR-typed donors are from DKMS.

Your transplant center will work with you throughout the search process of the national registry for an unrelated donor, try to match you with the best donor possible and offer additional support throughout the transplant process.
