Save Giovanni's Friend Paolo Cavalli

June 8, 2008 Fairfield, CT

Why:

Here is the story in Paolo's words:

About me...hmm...I guess I'll start with the basics:My name is Paolo Cavalli, I am 30 years old, married for 4.5 years to my very beautiful and supportive wife Clara, and was just diagnosed on April 17th, 2008 with Pre B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia - Philadelphia Chromosome Positive.Prior to my diagnosis, I led a pretty healthy lifestyle. I don't smoke and attended the gym regularly. Back in 2005, I completed my first marathon in Minneapolis (very scenic by the way, I highly recommend it). Same year I did the MS150 after not riding a bike for about 4 years. After the first day of riding, I spent about $75 on the bike seat that mostly resembled a lazy boy couch...They say the benefits of laughter range from hormones to physical release to internal workout to stress release. I love to laugh. I try to laugh as much as I can without raising suspicion as to my mental health. More importantly laughing puts me in a much better and positive state of mind, and in this fight, that’s half the battle.
