The Empire State Building will celebrate the Coty/DKMS Linked Against Leukemia Partnership on Thursday, April 29th by lighting its world-famous tower in red and white.
In October 2006, Coty Inc., a global beauty leader, joined DKMS, the world’s largest non-profit bone marrow donor center, in the fight against leukemia by establishing the Coty-DKMS Linked Against Leukemia partnership. Led by CEO Bernd Beetz, Coty has leveraged its strong celebrity partnerships to raise awareness of the disease and help recruit thousands of donors around the world.

To help draw attention to the DKMS mission to save lives by recruiting donors, the world’s largest bone marrow center is partnering with Sally Hansen to kick off a mulit-city “Color That Cares” campaign.
Fans For Charity and DKMS hosted a two day party at the Music Loves Fashion event for Coachella 2010. New bone marrow donors were registered and thousands, who attended, were able to learn more about the need for bone marrow donors.

An overwhelming 1,069 students made a decision to be a hero yesterday; they registered as lifesaving bone marrow donors at the University of Minnesota Duluth donor drive hosted by the Multicultural Pharmacy Student Organization. Every year more than 10,000 patients are diagnosed with a life-threatening blood cancer for which a marrow transplant is their only hope for a cure. This outpouring of support from the UMD community gives hope to the thousands of patients searching for their lifesaver.

Rihanna was among the celebrities who submitted a request for funding to Pepsi's Refresh Project, which doles out $20 million to various causes.
Rihanna is trying to raise funds for DKMS, which tries to find bone marrow donors for those suffering from leukemia. Rihanna was active last year in trying to find donors for a 6-year-old girl who died last month.

Lamar Odom was inspired by Jasmina's fight against leukemia and her struggle to find a bone marrow donor. He has helped DKMS register bone marrow donors and continues to be a voice for DKMS. We are very proud to announce that Pay it Forward with Jackie raised over $1600 for DKMS on Sunday, December 6th, 2009 at the Wal-Mart in Farmingdale, 901 Broadhallow Rd. (RT 110)
100% of the money raised at the Coins for a Cause will go towards the tissue-typing of the more than 2,700 people who signed-up as bone marrow donors to potentially help save Julianna and thousands of other patients just like her.
It costs DKMS $65 to tissue-type/register each new donor. While the cost is not made mandatory, DKMS needs to come up with the $200,000 to help cover these costs.
