Lauren Matta, of Little Egg Harbor, is a vibrant 17 year old senior at Pinelands Regional High School who has been battling Leukemia since June of 2011. She loved to sing and hang out with friends, but her last 6 months have been filled with rounds of grueling chemotherapy. Her condition became more critical in December when she relapsed, just one month after completion of her treatment. Now Lauren’s best chance of survival is to receive a bone marrow transplant, but she’ll first need to find a matching donor.
Her friends and family are holding a marrow donor drive to help find matches for Lauren and others - it could be you!!
Anyone 18-55 years old can register as a marrow donor in just ten minutes by doing a simple cheek swab!
