We don’t just search for donors. We find them.

DKMS is the largest private individual donor center in the world with more than 1.7 million donors. But what is the use of a large pool if donors cannot be located? 



It is our experience that informed donors are easier to contact and more willing to follow through. Our mailings keep our donors in the know, informing them of center activities and asking for updates on medical status, relocation and pregnancy.



We know our donors well, not only by keeping up-to-date records but also through additional typing at the DNA level. 



When we need to save a life, we can do it quickly and effectively. More than half of CT requests are fulfilled within the first two weeks, and 81% within the first three. This year, our goal is to complete 90% within 19 days.



The lead times for HR typings are even shorter. 94% of HR requests are fulfilled within 14 days and 98% within the first 21 days after the date of request.

DKMS uses fresh blood samples for HR typings and thereby, ensures donor availability. Since the lead times for HRs are even shorter than for CTs, HR typings are a great alternative.
