Do it For Life

Healthy donors of all races and ethnicities are needed, and what better place to recruit these much needed donors than at colleges and universities.

Do It for Life is a national campaign where students join forces to help saves lives. This campaign allows DKMS to raise awareness about leukemia and other blood cancers and recruit much needed life-saving marrow donors, who could potentially help give patients around the world a second chance at life.

Through the Do It for Life campaign, DKMS hopes to recruit more than 30,000 new marrow donors and add them to the National Registry, giving more patients hope.

Students can help by organizing donor drives on campus, and in collaboration with local blood centers on a yearly, bi-annual or quarterly basis, to educate their peers about blood cancers and the importance of registering as a marrow donor.

I GAVE LIFE

“I registered as a marrow donor about one year ago at the Friends of Forgotten Children drive in Concord, New Hampshire organized by DKMS and Michael Guglielmo, Baby Giovanni’s father. I never thought that I would be called because it is difficult to be found as a match for someone, but when I did I was excited about the possibility of saving someone's life.
