DKMS

There is nothing more inspiring or rewarding than helping to save lives. Saving lives is at the heart of our mission. This is what we work towards every day.

When DKMS was founded in Germany in 1991, our aim was to recruit as many marrow donors as possible in order to give more leukemia patients a second chance at life. We have achieved a lot since then: in early 1991, there were only approximately 3,000 registered donors in Germany. Following the foundation of DKMS in the same year, more than 68,000 donors were registered.

Within just five years, DKMS became the world's largest marrow donor center and today, DKMS still holds this distinction with a database of over 1.7 million marrow donors.

Without the courage, willingness and commitment of each individual, DKMS would not be where it is today. Because of you we are making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.

DKMS welcomes DKMS Americas and their efforts to help us grow in the United States. We look forward to helping connect DKMS donors with patients in need, wherever they may live.

We are extremely proud of our achievements over the past 17 years, and we are looking forward to a bright future of saving many more lives.
