Leona Lewis lends her voice to DKMS

British Pop Star Champions Efforts of DKMS and Pat Pedraja

"Not a lot of people know that leukemia is the most common disease children die of in the U.S. Most children and young adults can be given a second chance if a match is found. However, only 2 out of 10 patients end up getting the life-saving treatment. I think it's amazing that Pat, who is organizing donor drives with DKMS is being an advocate for bone marrow registration at such a young age, he is such an inspiration."

- Leona Lewis

Already pronounced the next diva, and with rumors that Diddy wants to her to appear on his next album, Leona Lewis is headed for great things. But she is still able to take the time to lend her voice to important causes.
Leona recently heard about DKMS after our Linked Against Leukemia Gala and expressed some interest in us as an organization and when she heard that pat Pedraja and DKMS teamed up for this year's Driving for Donors Campaign she knew that she wanted to be apart of the effort.

I have to admit I didn't really know that much about Leona Lewis until her people contacted us and then, well everything fell into place. I started to hear her song "Bleeding Love" on the radio and saw her video on tv and even our office manager Jessica was singing along to her CD.

Long story short and after some time on google and itunes, she is really good. And the fact that she is supporting DKMS and our efforts to register life-saving donors makes her even better in my book, so if you haven't gone out to buy her cd and register as a marrow donor, please do!!!
